Extensions can cause a plethora of performance issues with Google Chrome, such as slowness or changing your search engine from Google to Yahoo. To turn off extensions:

1. Click the puzzle icon, then click Manage Extensions.

OR, you may click on the ellipsis icon in the top-right corner, then go to More Tools. Click Extensions

2. Turn off any extensions that are not essential to Chrome or are greyed out.
